Last night, I sat through K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Not by choice—someone else wanted to watch it.
But afterward, I felt the need to speak up. Because there’s been some confusion about this movie being “Christian” or “spiritual” in a good way.
Let me be clear:
This is not biblical.
This is not Christian.
This is not godly entertainment.
💥 It Uses Demons, But Not the Bible
Yes, the movie talks about fighting demons. But that doesn’t make it Christian.
There’s no mention of Jesus.
No gospel message.
No biblical authority.
No power of the Holy Spirit.
Just flashy K-pop stars battling evil with glowing weapons and good vibes.
That’s not spiritual warfare. That’s fantasy dressed in spiritual language.
“For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” —2 Corinthians 11:14
❌ False Light, False Power
The movie gives the impression that we can fight darkness with:
- Friendship
- Positivity
- Inner strength
- A good team
But the Bible says the only way to defeat real darkness is through the name and authority of Jesus Christ.
“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow…” —Philippians 2:10
“Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” —James 4:7
This movie never mentions God. So where’s the power really coming from?
🎭 Blending Culture With Spiritual Confusion
Just because something uses Christian terms (like “demons”) doesn’t make it Christian content.
That’s the danger here—young people and believers may see the theme and assume it’s somehow aligned with faith.
It’s not.
This is K-pop culture and anime-style storytelling wrapped in supernatural themes. But biblical truth is missing.
Entertainment like this desensitizes viewers to the real nature of evil, making demons look like a cartoon problem you can handle without Jesus. That’s a lie.
⚠️ Why This Matters
As followers of Christ, we’re called to test everything:
“Test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” —1 Thessalonians 5:21–22
If a show or movie talks about demons but leaves out the Cross, the Blood, the Resurrection, and the Gospel—it is not Christian.
It is not safe for your spirit.
It is not harmless fun.
🙏 A Final Word
If you’ve watched it—or anything similar—here’s a prayer you can pray:
“Lord, I want to fill my mind with what is pure, holy, and true. If I’ve watched anything that confused truth or made evil look entertaining, forgive me. Cleanse me. Help me to be spiritually alert and draw the line where You draw it. I want to walk in truth and not be deceived. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
✝️ Choose What Honors Christ
Not everything spiritual is biblical.
Not everything supernatural is from God.
And not everything popular is safe.
Let’s be people who see clearly, speak up with love and truth, and fill our minds with things that actually glorify Jesus.
